Course Overview:
The “Death Dealers” (Fentanyl Death Investigations) course is an intensive, two-day (16-hour) course designed to target the current challenges in investigating fentanyl death cases. This course was designed by seasoned investigators with direct experience in fentanyl death cases to target sources of supply and prosecute “death dealers”. Participants will learn current methods that are being used successfully in the field today to target fentanyl overdose dealers, and how to think outside of the box to bring these dealers to justice. Participants will learn practical skills, evidence considerations, scene management, priorities of the investigation, legal frameworks, and inter-agency collaboration, which are all crucial when investigating fentanyl-induced deaths. This course is designed to give investigators the skills and knowledge to work Death Dealer cases from the warm body on the scene of the overdose to the arrest and prosecution of the source of supply.
